Gates of Olympus 1000 Review
The king of the gods has turned the dial up. Symbols still pay anywhere and still tumble, but Zeus now hurls orbs worth as much as 1,000×, and the ceiling has tripled.

Our Take: Take one of the most-played slots on the planet, double its biggest multiplier and triple its cap. Brilliant fun, as long as you're ready for wild swings.

Gates of Olympus Slot in Brief
Pragmatic Play first released the gates of olympus slot in 2021. The 1000 edition keeps its six-by-five pay-anywhere board and tumbling wins exactly as they were, but lets multiplier orbs reach 1,000× and lifts the cap to 15,000×.
- Any eight or more identical symbols on the board pay, wherever they sit.
- Orbs dropped by Zeus range from 2× to 1,000× and are summed together.
- During the bonus, orbs accumulate into a multiplier that keeps applying.
How the Gates of Olympus 1000 Grid Pays
Position doesn't matter here. Once eight or more matching symbols are visible anywhere on the board, they pay, explode and make room for new ones to drop. While that chain is running, Zeus may throw down orbs ranging from 2× to 1,000×. When the chain finishes, the orbs' values are summed and the spin's total win is multiplied by the result.
Gates of Olympus 1000 Free Spins Explained
A minimum of four scatters opens a 15-spin bonus, and any three during it adds five more spins. Throughout the round, each orb that contributes to a win is banked into an overall multiplier, which then boosts every remaining win. A big early bank can make the closing spins enormous.
Paying a 25% Ante Bet doubles your odds of triggering the bonus, and certain casinos also sell it outright.
What Changed in the Gates of Olympus 1000 Slot
Only two numbers really moved between editions:
| Game | Largest orb | Top prize | RTP |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gates of Olympus (2021) | 500× | 5,000× | 96.50% |
| Gates of Olympus 1000 | 1,000× | 15,000× | 96.50% |
Gates of Olympus Super Scatter is another, more recent title that introduces a special scatter, and there are several other Olympus-inspired Pragmatic Play games too. The name in the game's header tells you which one you've loaded.
How Other Reviewers Rate Gates of Olympus 1000
Critics broadly see this as a winning formula made more extreme. SlotArk awards it 8.6 out of 10 and describes it as the definitive modern slot formula given a higher ceiling. There's agreement on the 96.50% RTP and 15,000× cap, plenty of praise for the artwork, and one consistent caution: everyday wins tend to be modest, and the bigger multipliers make the ride even bumpier than the 2021 game.
Praised by reviewers
- Orbs worth up to 1,000×
- Cap three times higher than before
- Superb animation and artwork
Where it falls short
- Extremely swingy
- Day-to-day wins are modest
- Near-twin of Starlight Princess
Gates of Olympus RTP, Volatility and Top Prize
Pragmatic Play's standard return of 96.50% beats the typical industry figure. The variance rating is very high, and a single round can pay up to 15,000 times the bet, compared with 5,000× on the 2021 version.
Gates of Olympus Slot Demo or Real Money?
Fire up the gates of olympus slot demo to watch the overall multiplier grow during a bonus. It shares the paid game's maths but uses pretend money. When you switch to cash, a stake that stretches to roughly 300 spins is a reasonable starting point.
Gates of Olympus Slot Strategy: What Actually Works
Every spin is decided by an independently tested random number generator, so no betting pattern changes the RTP. The parts you can manage are money and time:
- Size your bet so your budget covers several hundred spins; the bonus is often slow to arrive.
- Turn on the Ante Bet only if paying a quarter more per spin for extra bonus chances feels worthwhile.
- Decide in advance when you'll walk away, both after a good win and after a set loss.
