Buffalo King Untamed Megaways Review
The newest stampede in Pragmatic Play's Buffalo King Megaways line. Wilds can carry multipliers on any spin, the bonus multiplier only ever climbs, and the cap sits at 10,000 times the bet.

Our Take: It's an evolution rather than a revolution, yet it's the strongest game in the Buffalo King family. The ever-rising wild multiplier in free spins is the reason to play.

Buffalo King Megaways Slot in Brief
Released in 2024, Untamed builds on the first buffalo king megaways slot. Reel heights reshuffle with each spin, creating as many as 86,436 ways, and multiplier wilds can turn up both inside and outside the bonus.
- Reels resize on every spin, giving up to 86,436 ways to win.
- Base-game wilds can land with 2×, 3× or 5× multipliers.
- In free spins, the wild multiplier rises by 1× whenever a wild helps form a win.
How This Buffalo Slot Machine Works
Every reel shows a random number of symbols per spin, which is the whole point of Megaways, so your ways to win rise and fall, peaking at 86,436. Wins pay left to right across neighbouring reels, and winning symbols are replaced by tumbling ones for extra wins on the same spin.
In the base game, Wild symbols can arrive with a 2×, 3× or 5× multiplier. A random feature can also stack the reels with buffalo for a big hit outside the bonus.
Buffalo King Untamed Megaways Free Spins Explained
Free spins are triggered by scatter symbols. Here the wild multiplier opens at 1× and gains another 1× each time a wild joins a winning line, with no reset until the round finishes. String enough wild wins together and it can grow enormous, which is how the 10,000× top prize comes into reach.
Buffalo King Untamed Compared With the Original Buffalo King Megaways
The two Megaways games are easy to mix up:
| Game | Most ways | RTP | Top prize |
|---|---|---|---|
| Buffalo King Megaways (2021) | 200,704 | 96.52% | 5,000× |
| Buffalo King Untamed Megaways (2024) | 86,436 | 96.02% | 10,000× |
The original offers more ways and a slightly better RTP, while Untamed doubles the top prize and has the stronger free spins multiplier. You'll also run into Aristocrat's land-based Buffalo machines and titles like Buffalo Blitz. Those come from other studios and work in completely different ways.
How Other Reviewers Rate Buffalo King Untamed Megaways
BigWinBoard captured the general feeling: Untamed isn't a big step forward for the series, but it's every bit as exciting as the earlier games, and maybe more. Review sites list a 96.02% RTP, a 10,000× top prize and a hit rate of about 23%. The criticism that comes up most is the lower RTP compared with the first Buffalo King Megaways.
